Cultural exchanges build bonds, says Japanese CG

Japan Fest 2023 was organised at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, in collaboration with the Japanese Consulate General. The guests included Consul General of Japan Odagiri Toshio, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab. While speaking on the occasion, Consul General Toshio said: “The annual Japanese festival serves as a bridge between our two nations. The exchange of culture not only brings us closer but also strengthens the bond between Pakistan and Japan.” “Despite the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, we are delighted to finally host this festival, especially in the vibrant city of Karachi. This event showcases the rich tapestry of modern and traditional Japanese culture and contributes to presenting a positive image of Pakistan on the global stage," he added. Mayor Wahab acknowledged the cultural significance of the festival. "Pak-Japan friendship is not only built on trade but is also deeply rooted in our shared cultural heritage. Music and cultural roots should not be forgotten, and I appreciate the Arts Council for fostering cultural exchange.” “Such programs should also be held in Japan to promote a better understanding of Pakistani culture among the Japanese people," he added. ACP President Ahmad Shah highlighted the festival’s diverse attractions. “Various stalls captured the attention of participants, showcasing the essence of Pak-Japan friendship.
